Matraville Medical Complex

Circumcision

Professional services in a safe, respectful clinical setting for infants, children and adults. Our experienced doctors provide careful assessment, with a strong focus on comfort, privacy and follow up support.

Step into a supportive environment where your questions are welcomed and your concerns are taken seriously. Our team is committed to providing evidence based care and clear guidance at every stage of the process.

Personalised Circumcision Care

We understand that circumcision can be a sensitive decision, whether it is for medical, cultural, religious or personal reasons. Our doctors take time to explain the procedure, discuss benefits and risks, and ensure you feel confident in your choice.

Each patient is assessed individually. We consider age, medical history and any existing conditions before recommending the most appropriate approach. This helps reduce risks and supports a smoother recovery.
Your comfort is a priority. We use modern pain management techniques and provide detailed aftercare instructions so you know what to expect once you leave the clinic.

From the first consultation through to final review, our aim is to provide calm, respectful and professional care for you and your family.

Supportive Care from an Experienced Team

Our doctors and nursing staff are committed to providing calm, respectful care at every visit. We understand that many patients and families feel nervous about circumcision, so we explain each step in clear language and avoid rushing decisions.

We work in modern consulting rooms and procedure areas, with a focus on infection control and patient safety. Before the procedure, we confirm that you understand what will happen and have had the opportunity to ask questions.

After the procedure, you receive written aftercare instructions and guidance about what is normal during healing, as well as symptoms that should be checked by a doctor. Our team will arrange follow up to review recovery and ensure that everything is healing as expected.

Whether you are a parent considering circumcision for your child or an adult seeking advice for yourself, we aim to provide care that is careful, considerate and aligned with current medical standards.

No, you can book an appointment directly with one of our doctors. A referral is not required for an initial consultation, although your GP may choose to provide one if you are being referred from another clinic.

We provide circumcision services for newborns, infants, children, teenagers and adults. The approach and aftercare advice will vary depending on age, and this will be explained during your consultation.

Common medical reasons can include tight foreskin that does not retract, recurring infections, inflammation, scarring or discomfort. Your doctor will assess your individual situation and discuss whether circumcision is appropriate or if other treatment options are available.

Some discomfort is expected, but we use local anaesthesia and other pain relief methods to help keep you as comfortable as possible during the procedure. You will also receive advice on pain relief at home after the procedure.

Recovery time depends on age and individual healing. Many patients are back to light activities within a few days, while full healing can take longer. Your doctor will provide guidance about work, school, sport and other activities.

You will receive clear written instructions on wound care, including how to keep the area clean, how often to change dressings and what level of discomfort is normal. If you notice increasing pain, swelling, bleeding or signs of infection, you should contact the clinic or seek medical care.

Some aspects of the procedure and consultations may be covered. Coverage depends on your individual Medicare and private health insurance arrangements. Our reception team can provide guidance and invite you to confirm details with your fund.

For infants and children, parents or carers will be given preparation instructions, which may include feeding and clothing advice. Adult patients may be asked about fasting, medications and general health. Any specific requirements will be discussed during your consultation.
